We will be closed Sunday and Monday. Reopen at 8 am on Tuesday

Have a good weekend.

Berry Patch Update….May 29, 2023

Blackberry picking time has finally arrived. The Berry patch will open for u-pick on Friday, June 2, 2023, from 8 am to 5 pm or until picked out. Our regular days to be open will be Tuesday through Saturday from 8 am to 5 pm. Days will be subject to change due to berry availability. The farm will be closed on Sundays and Mondays.  The best picking time is between 8 a.m. and 12 noon. Berries have the highest sugar content in the morning hours. Plus, it's much more pleasant for the pickers!

Please check our web site for daily picking schedule changes or call before you come out……www.huebnerberrypatch.com

As last year, a picking scale of 1-10 will be used to indicate the availability of ripe berries. With a "1" being a light number of berries being available, and a "10" indicating a large number being ready to pick.

One gallon picking containers will be provided…they will hold 4 to 5 pounds. The availability of Pre-Picked Berries will vary daily. Please call or check the website. You can email, text or call us to order pre-picked berries. Call 903-344-1132, or call or text 979-255-3181.

U-Pick berries will be $4.00 per lb. Pre-Picked berries will be $6.50 per quart (1 lb.).

Care of Your Blackberries: If it will be more than a hour before you can place your berries in refrigeration after leaving the farm…transport your berries in a ice chest with cold paks or a plastic bag with ice cubes. Carole can give you directions on freezing the berries once you get them home. Of course, you may have eaten them all before then!

When you come to pick, wear closed toe shoes…flip flops not recommended. Wear a hat or cap, sunscreen and bring water.

We accept cash, credit and debit cards, and in-county checks. Due to increased credit card fees…..there will be a 3% courtesy fee on credit card transactions.

Carole has been busy making her great tasting jellies and jams. All the fruit ingredients come from our farm. This year's flavors include Blackberry Jelly, Spooky Berry Jelly, Peach Jam, Plum Jam and Plum Spooky Jam.  Also, she has made some blackberry syrup and blackberry syrup lite.

From our local Lone Star Olive Ranch the following infused olive oils will be available: Roasted Garlic, Garlic, Habanero, Italian Medley, Jalapeno, Lemon and Parmesan.

Again this year we will also have local honey from Nathan Krueger," Hey Honey!" in two different sizes.

Carole will also have a lot of great recipes for preparing those sweet berries. Some of these are on our web site.

For the second year in a row a late March freeze knocked out 95% of our peaches and plums.

The number of ripe berries we will have on any given day will vary … so please call, text or check our website before you come out – especially the first week – or if you're coming a long distance.

Our website (www.huebnerberrypatch.com) will have a lot more information about our farm … including directions to the farm and contact information.

Sorry, Pets are Not Allowed in the orchard.

We are very excited about this year and looking forward to providing our customers with a high quality, sweet fresh blackberries for their enjoyment.

Hope to see you soon
